European Federation Of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO)

Corrugated board was invented about 150 years ago. Since then, it has safely and reliably protected around 70% of the world’s manufactured products on the various transport routes from the producer to the consumer.

The European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO), based in Brussels, was founded in 1952 and is a non-profit organization representing the interests of the corrugated board industry throughout Europe.

Expertise of the European Association of Corrugated Board Manufacturers

FEFCO’s mission is to provide corrugated industry decision-makers and their staff with the expertise and support they need and to provide them with information on developments that may impact the corrugated industry.

FEFCO develops technical standards and specifications to support its members and facilitate collaboration with customers and suppliers on technical issues.

International code for shipping packages

This Code was developed by FEFCO and ESBO (European Solid Board Organization, based in The Hague) with the aim of replacing cumbersome definitions of corrugated board boxes and corrugated board packaging structures with simple, internationally valid symbols that are universally understood across countries.

The FEFCO code can further be used for orders and specifications of shipping packages.
